A Woman of Adventure: The Life and Times of First Lady Lou Henry Hoover
She trained to be a geologist. She spoke fluent Chinese, and she co-authored a translation of one of the most important books on mining ever written. The first first lady to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine, and committed to the success of the Girl Scouts, Lou Henry Hoover has left a legacy of female empowerment that has long been forgotten. I am researching her life and will write the first biography to cover the entire life of this inspiring first woman.
